Acceptance Can Be the Birthplace of Change
I’m thrilled that yesterday The Atlantic published my article, “A COVID Serenity Prayer.”
“We’re starting to reach the acceptance phase of the pandemic: a time when we must recalibrate our individual risk gauges, which have been completely thrown out of whack. The approach I’m embracing with patients boils down to a secular version of the serenity prayer. We need “the serenity to accept the things [we] cannot change, courage to change the things [we] can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
So today I will share it with you!
Although I wrote this piece in September, I did cheat on my "Me-Tober" by popping on Morning Joe bright and early this morning. (Click here for the clip.)
Next week, you’ll hear from one of my incredible pediatrician colleagues about kids, COVID, and the upcoming vaccine for children ages 5-11.
I will see you in a few weeks. Until then, be well.
P.S. Get your flu shots, people!
