Thank You Dr. McBride….do you have an idea regarding spf for patients who have a reaction causing blurry vision when using sunscreen ?

Hi Joseph - just so I understand - do you mean when sunscreen gets in your eyes? If not, and you get blurry vision that is mysterious - I suggest seeing your eye doctor and your primary care doc too. I wouldn't assume sunscreen is the cause!

Re bloating: 2 years ago we chose a very low carb diet that cut out grains, legumes, root veg, and of course things made with flour and added sugar. Increased cooking at home and eliminated ultra processed foods. The disappearance of gas and bloating was dramatic. It will return (briefly) when I have dessert. Previously I did a trial elimination of dairy that revealed nothing. Removing one category of food at a time, for a few weeks at a time, while keeping that food journal, could be very revealing!

Re bloating: I spent years keeping a food diary and was never able to pinpoint the culprits. It was so frustrating. I lost a lot of weight, which I couldn’t afford to lose, because I just didn’t know what to eat. I had eliminated all possible offenders but I still struggled. In the end it was taking a good probiotic ( Culturelle)) and a product called IBGard every morning that finally got me on track. I can eat anything now and rarely get bloated. If I feel a bit off, I take the probiotic at night too. And I always take extra when traveling and not eating my normal diet. I thank God for putting me on the right path to gut health!!
