Have a Safe and Healthy Holiday
MEDICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH UPDATE
Like most of you, my husband, kids and I have trimmed the Christmas tree and our expectations for the holidays this year. We’ve canceled travel, visits to loved ones, and gatherings with friends.
Yet the holiday spirit is alive and well. We are finding joy in the simple things.
Despite the devastation of COVID-19, hope abounds. The vaccines are coming. Science is prevailing. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
We just need to hold on a bit longer.
Today I am thankful for the blessings of my life, my family and friends, my patients, and for you, my dear readers. The warmth of your (virtual) embrace sustains me. Even though it’s raining here in DC on this Christmas Eve, I know that the sun will shine again, the birds will sing, and we will be okay.
This holiday season, let’s band together—together apart—to protect one another. Let’s treat our neighbors like family. Let’s remember that the sacrifices of today are investments for a better tomorrow. We are in this together.
OH! And if you’re hungry for more updates and vaccine info, check out this past Monday’s live COVID-19 Q & A with me and Dr. Ackerly!
I wish you all a healthy and safe holiday, and I will see you next week. Until then, be well.
