I love that! I am going to reframe this as β€œlet’s talk about your weight health.β€œ I’m a physician in Colorado, and I just love the way you frame this. Thank you!

Doing my happy dance πŸ’ƒπŸ» Heather! Thank you for this and the care you provide for your patients. I’m coming out there on book tour (Denver area) so will make sure to flag. 🎯

I love this podcast. I'm going to listen to it a second time.

But, my brother has been on GLP ones for heart and diabetes reason for the last two years and he is so skinny. I am truly afraid for him. There's not a whole lot of information about how to help people get off these medication's and get back to normal.

so happy you found so much value. I write about how to navigate weaning and potentially being off the medication in my book. We can also help him at The Better Nutrition Program with an assessment and plan if it is something he is seeking. I don't focus on "normal" but helping him optimize his weight health today and tomorrow would be the goal :)

so true after 74 years have realized this

Thank you for this both of you. I’ve been on a GLP-1 to lose weight and have been surprised about the psychological effects (muting the food noise) but had no idea that there are so many hormones influencing my health which I’ve been really just ignoring.

Yay and You are not alone - these hormones are so new for so many - it’s so empowering when we understand how our body works and how to give it what it needs 🎯

Yes! So many times I've had docs tell me that weight was the source of so multiple health issues. Even the surgeon who performed my hysterectomy when I had cancer the first time told me my weight limited her ability to do an easier procedure, resulting in a rough healing time and eventual hernias in my abdomen, requiring more surgery.

We’ve been on the not better, disempowering path. I’m glad we are now here to support each other ❀️🎯

Ashley's book has been needed and should be required for all providers, and for patients whose goal is a healthier weight. It is not just about GLPs, surgery, or restrictive diets. Retired Registered Dietitian here, good to see this book published.
