Please do keep providing the transcript. Some of us just are not auditory learners. I don't mind the conversational style, though; but you are a terrific writer!

Thanks for this!

I too prefer your written comments as opposed to the auditory comments. The transcripts do not reflect your excellent writing, but it is nice to hear your voice!

I absolutely love this format! Two great questions that I personally needed answered and hearing you answer them helps me to absorb the information. Thank you. Keep up this important work!

Hey there, thank you so much for answering my question – I was the one who asked about the issue of 2x yearly Covid shots! I love the new format. I’ll only add as a small follow-up comment that your answer makes complete sense to me. AND/YET…at the same time, on a personal level it’s a bummer to get Covid twice in one year (albeit many months apart), and just to think dammit, if I’d only gotten another vaccination, maybe this latest infection wouldn’t take 10 days out of my life (could it have been milder?). It’s sort of like having a terrible flu…but more than once a year. But yes—totally get your assessment!

It’s definitely on us as individuals to take charge and care of our underlying health and keep masking perhaps as another layer of protection in certain situations.

I’ll also say that there was another dimension to my question which I didn’t share – the creepy specter of long Covid (cue threatening music). If a lot of us are gonna be getting Covid on a yearly (or more) basis, how much should we really let this worry us? I am basically young and healthy, but all the writing and information about long Covid is certainly a bit unnerving. I know you’ve written about the reality of post viral syndrome – in a sense LC is maybe nothing new. Maybe some point I’ll send a follow-up question about what the real statistics are on LC occurrence. When you read in Google about everything from 5 to 30% of people getting it, well, it’s confusing to say the least!

Thank you so much for this wonderful platform.

As my cousin says, the risks for the fosamax and such are "rare", until it happens to you. Both femurs broken, years of PT to walk again. Probably best to not take long term, if at all, but increase walking to strengthen bones.

I much much prefer your written comments as opposed to the audio comments. First of all I prefer to read and garner more information that way. You have partially solved that by providing the transcript of your audio. However, the transcript in no way matches what your written answers would normally look like. It’s definitely a transcript of an audio which is conversational style. One of the things that I love about you is your wonderful writing abilities and the way you’re able to express yourself through writing. Audio transcripts of what you say are not matching your wonderful writing style so it’s extremely disappointing. You definitely have many talents in the medical profession but writing is also a definite and I so enjoyed your writing.

Will we ever be able to tackle a sterilizing or neutralizing vaccine?

prob not for covid - for the same reasons we've never found a vaccine for the common cold - it mutates too frequently

Fair.

I very much prefer the original format. You have a gift for communicating through the written word. It's very easy to understand and we can really sense your humanness even without hearing your voice.
