Very, very timely and thought-provoking, but mostly much needed concrete reminders to keep putting one foot in front of the other, every day.

3% is not a mandate. Trump win 51%. Harris won 48% … so a 3% difference …. How is that a landslide … how is that a mandate … that is a razor close election … 1/2 of America does not agree with Trump/MAGA

We split our time between Edmond, Oklahoma & Los Angeles, CA. We have a big group of friends & fam in both states, both lib & conservative. It's like my own little study that I get to conduct by just living!

Regardless of party, my peeps in Oklahoma aren't stressed over politics. They're married with kids, involved with their church, enjoy fishing & weekends at one of our many gorgeous lakes. Our city is SO GREEN with ponds literally everywhere, wild geese & ducks all over. Your entire body just relaxes within minutes of being in Oklahoma. We get together in large groups for football games and politics almost never comes up. Many of our friends are liberal, but about 75% of us are conservative, so we just don't bring that stuff up at pool parties and BBQ's. We love each other regardless of who is President. Even through all the Trump indictments and Russiagate, we managed to just leave that crap at the door.

My friends in Los Angeles are VERY stressed over politics. It's all people talk about!! You can't avoid the topic, and if you do pipe up with a disagreement that Tulsi Gabbard shouldn't "rot in hell" like I have a total of TWO times, you will be encircled and literally mobbed. Basically none of my LA friends have families. A big friend group isn't the same as having kids, and the dog isn't an actual baby. Everything is expensive & most of the city is grungy, dilapidated, and there's not a ton of nature on display. When you take God & family out of a society, LA is what you get. People here are stressed right now because they aren't centered on what is important.

I listened to part of this conversation live, and I am glad to have a chance to listen to the whole thing. I agree that unlike the rest of social media, Substack feels like a decent, honest place. I hope it can stay that way.
